About Me

Hello, my name is Catherine Jennings, welcome to my website. I work in Wollaton (NG8) near Ilkeston, Nottingham and Derby.

I have over 18 years of counselling experience. I enjoy working one to one with teenagers and adults. During Covid 19 restrictions I am working via Skype/ Zoom/ WhatsApp and telephone. When it's safe to do so I shall return to working face to face with clients whilst still offering online counselling as an option.

Clients seek me out for all sorts of reasons - perhaps they're having relationship problems, have a heart sink boss/ colleague, are experiencing anxiety and panic attacks, depression or loneliness. Sometimes clients want emotional support and a safe , confidential space in which to address and talk through specific problems such as a painful break up, end of a friendship or childhood abuse. Others may want support in making decisions, coping with crisis, working through feelings and inner conflict or improving their communication and relationships with others.

You may not have considered counselling before and not know quite what to expect - it's quite different from how it's conveyed in movies and on TV... I won't tell you what to do, give you homework or expect you to lie on a couch! What I will offer is a safe and warm environment for us to explore painful and sensitive subjects at your pace. I won't try to influence your path and choices - I believe you are your own expert and are capable of making the choices that are right for you. I will offer you my undivided attention and respect. Most clients find me friendly and easy to talk to and I want to help you find your OWN way through challenging issues and believe this is possible with trust and support.
